New Themes 2017 Rumours

These two images are probably some of the most interesting parts to the Lego catalogue for 2017. No sets have been revealed from these two promotions but are set to be released later towards the middle of the year. Let's look at both images in some more detail. Sorry the images aren't that great. It was the best I could find so far. I don't have a copy of the catalogue yet so I can't examine the image so well when I zoom in.

Theme:City

Release Date: June

Translation: Discover a new world in June!

Comment: Lego talked about having an emphasis on the City Police sub-theme so I guess this will be a good vs. bad architype. The jungle setting around the minifigure is shaped into a keyhole and there are foggy images of a city which clearly supports the Police sub-theme. 2015 saw the release of the Swamp Police, a different setting to the normal City Police. The minifigure is not dressed in formal police uniform and has a green coiled rope around his left shoulder. I'm not sure about the next part, but I seems as though there is water next to the minifigs left leg. A wave is approaching which covers his right shoulder.

Theme: Marvel Super Heroes

Release Date: May

Translation: Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 New Products in May!

Comment: Frankly, there is not much to hint at new sets. In April 2017, the second Guardians of the Galaxy will be released. If you have seen the first movie, it's about a bounty hunter who finds himself in a mess with villains, fighting a man called Ronan. Lego did released afew sets for the movie. The most popular one was probably the 76021 The Milano Spaceship Rescue. As the movie hasn't been released, it is hard to determine what sets will be available in the furture.
